How is my donation used by the Society?
We have an annual essay contest with the area junior/senior high school. In this contest kids are encouraged to learn the history of people, places, and things of the area. Nearly 100 essays are submitted each year and are scored by a panel of judges. Authors’ names are not known till the actual winners are chosen. At that time winners are revealed and honored with a short banquet and are given monetary prizes.
We have taken on preservation projects and have been successful with the renovation of the Covered Bridge restaurant. (Read more.)
Currently, we are hoping to help in the saving of the Wollenmann home. (Read more.)

You can call any of our members for more information or you can join us at any of our meetings. Annual membership cost is $5.00.
What am I committing to by becoming a member?
Your only commitment is to the preservation of Ferdinand’s history. Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of February, April, June, September. We have a booth at the annual Christkindlmarkt, which we currently use as our only fundraiser and is manned by volunteer members.
